Airline Twin Tone!!!
This week I'm featuring the
The Airline Twin Tone!!!
The Airline Twin Tone comes in a variety of colors, white, sunburst, metallic red, metallic blue and black. It has a Basswood body, bolt on Maple neck and a Rosewood fingerboard with block markers. The Twin Tone comes with Dual Hot-Rail Humbuckers, two volume, two tone controls and three way switching. It has a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a custom chrome tail and an optional Bigsby. It also comes with Vintage Kluson Style Nickle/Chrome hardware and a pinstriped dual pickguard.
Here's some history on the Airline Twin Tone from the Eastwood website:
Eastwood's tribute to the SUPRO® Dual Tone. SUPRO® Guitars were made in the USA from 1958-68 by VALCO and sold through Montgomery Ward. VALCO also made National and AIRLINE brands. Today they are played by people like The Cure, Calexico, Raconteurs and White Stripes.
What really stands out and grabs my attention about the Twin Tone is the Blue Metallic paint job. It's really beautiful. I think the blue paint really compliments the chrome hardware, even more than other colors. It's a little bit on the heavy side, but it makes up for it with a very smooth and crisp sound. It's very comfortable to hold, either standing or sitting. It almost has a Les Paul look to it, but keeps a very classic feel. I love it!! Grab it while you can!!
