The Eastwood
HI-FLYER!!!
This week I'm featuring the Hi-Flyer by Eastwood
The Eastwood Hi-Flyer comes in two colors, a classic sunburst and white. It has a solid Basswood body, Set Maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard with dot markers. This guitar comes with P-90 neck and bridge pickups, three way switching and one volume and one tone control. It comes with either a Roller or Tone-O-Matic bridge and Vintage Kluson Style nickel/chrome hardware.
Here's some history on the Hi-Flyer from the Eastwood web site
The Hi-Flyer is a beautiful reproduction of the UNIVOX Hi-Flyer from the early 1970's. Vintage Hi-Flyer value has grown steadily in the past decade as it was used by the late Kurt Cobain of NIRVANA. Eastwood’s upgrades include a carved Basswood body mounted to a SET maple neck for an incredibly solid design. Two powerful P90 pickups kick out an incredible bite for the buck.
What's I like about the Hi-Flyer is the set neck. It gives this guitar a very solid, seamless look and feel. I also like the nickel and chrome hardware. The hardware really pops out against the white paint and black pick guard. It's a little bit on the plain side as far as looks go, but that's cool too. If it was good enough for Kurt Cobain, it's good enough for me!
