Jimmy Fallon Late Night- Should he have a hip-hop band or keep the formula?

The SNL star has recenly been busy that he's ever been in his life, according to a recent article, ah...on my phone. And frankly he should be, he is definately one of the most talented to come out of SNL over the last decade. But why change the formula for late night? Hip-hop was done with Arsenio Hall! Of all things to do on your show, why would you want to do canned music? A full band with guitars and sythesizers, and horns is much more appealling than some DJ, no one knows about...so what is he going to co-MC like Johnny Carson's Ed McMahon?
I'm just a firm believer in Rock and Roll- its more organic and real. However, I'm not apposed to having someone on stage that spins, thats cool. Just not someone in the shoes of La Bamba or Max Wineburg that spins, and co-Mc's....Oh well, who knows how it will go down. But for me its Rock n Roll........I'm sure he's going to have rock guests, and I'm sure going to be pushing for it!

Caught the show last night and I liked it - I think the band Roots should stay - it was good and they seem to be able to play anything...

Yep, fooled by the media again, they don't know what is a rock band, and what is a hiphop band, I don't see them as hiphop, but as a Roots band, Bob Marley...rasta right?

i agree, i recently went to see this band that had kind of an electro rock feel and it turned out to be just one guy on a dj setup spinning sarato .. the music could had easily been played live with real instruments but this guy basically pressed play on his itunes and stood on stage. I guess people who dont play or really understand how music is made wouldn't know much of the difference but come on.. even if i had an electronic or rap group i would make sure it was played with real instruments there are a few rap and r&b artist that actually do that, I give them more respect for that.
